The Airstream Caravel made its debut in 1956 and has been a consistent feature in our lineup as a lightweight and agile option. The name "Caravel" is derived from early European sailing ships known for their excellent windward sailing capabilities. This name choice was inspired by our founder, Wally Byam, who had a passion for the sea and embarked on numerous adventures aboard such vessels. The new Caravel pays homage to its historical namesake and invites you to embark on your own windward adventures.
